Jersey by Air - St Helier
Offering a taste of the continent and nestling in the bay of Saint Malo, Jersey is the largest and most southerly of the Channel Islands. Its shores are warmed by the Gulf Stream and it enjoys an excellent sunshine record.
Day 1 Departure: To be advised. Transfer to East Midlands Airport, to catch the Flybe flight to Jersey. Transfer to hotel. A representative will greet you with a welcome pack.
Days 2 – 4 Explore the island at your leisure and maybe take advantage of the optional tours, offered by your representative. Mont Orgueil Castle, without doubt Jersey’s most famous landmark, built in the 13th century to defend the island from invasion. Now, its dominating position on the rock face at Gorey provides delightful views across to the coast of France on a fine day. Elizabeth Castle can only be reached aboard an amphibious craft. Visit the award-winning Maritime Museum and its interactive exhibits explaining about everything nautical or perhaps discover how the island’s history developed at The Jersey Museum. The German Bunkers at St Peter, gun posts, fortifications, along with the Jersey War Tunnels all reveal the realities of wartime on the island. Combined with 12 glorious golden beaches across the island, and Green Lanes especially introduced for walkers to explore quaint villages, wooded valleys and dramatic cliff tops, Jersey is the island where there is something for everyone. The streets of St Helier buzz with life, as this is the island’s capital where there is plenty to do and see. Wander amongst the many streets that still have old French titles, browsing in the numerous shops and Victorian markets that still carry names of the island’s founders.
Day 5 Continental breakfast. Meet in reception 2 hours prior to flight departure time. Transfer to Jersey Airport for your return flight. Possibility of extra landing/take-off to collect passengers from Guernsey. Transfer from East Midlands Airport. Arrive home: Time to be advised.
