Day 1 Departure: 0530-0630 hrs. Making a comfort stop en-route, take ferry from Holyhead to Dublin. Hotel check-in at Wilton Hotel, Bray for overnight stay. Dinner included.
Day 2 Travel north via Cavan to admire the great lakes, which dominate the Co. Fermanagh landscape, scattered with islands and adorned with breath-taking forest parks. Lunch break at Enniskillen, home of the Royal Fusiliers. Travel along the shores of Lough Erne to discover Belleek, home of Ireland’s oldest pottery. Admission included with guided tour and 20 minute audio visual presentation to observe how this legendary basket-weave china is handcrafted. Continue journey to Donegal for a 3-night stay at the Central Hotel.
Day 3 Capture the sights, sounds and spectacular scenery of Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, beginning with a scenic drive along the northern shore of Donegal Bay. At Glencolmcille, visit the delightful folk village, (adm inc), considered one of Ireland’s leading living-history museums with a clutch of traditional thatched cottages situated on a hillside overlooking Glen Car Bay. View more remarkable ocean scenery with a journey up to the viewpoint on Slieve League for panoramic views of these famous sea cliffs (adm inc), standing 2000 feet above the Atlantic Ocean.
Day 4 Travelling south explore the delicate countryside of Co. Sligo, the inspiration of WB Yeats, often reflected in his poetry. Visit Drumcliffe, the final resting-place of Ireland’s most famous poet, before travelling along the Glencar Valley, in the shadow of Benbulben, to the waterfall. Continue around the lake to emerge onto the high road toward Sligo. Take a tour round the Lough Gill Loop passing Parke’s Castle. Near the lovely village of Dromahair is the remarkable ruin of the 16th century Creevelea Friary, the last Franciscan foundation before the suppression of monasteries. Continue out to Strandhill, where you will find a seaside resort with a distinct Irish village and the final resting-place of the famous Queen Maeve. Include a little time exploring the town of Sligo, then head back to Donegal for free time there before dinner.
Day 5 Travel to Dublin City for free time. Explore Ireland’s vibrant capital with something for everyone from its cathedral, castle, museums and galleries, to its parks, cafe's and many excellent shops for essential holiday souvenirs. Overnight at the Wilton Hotel in Bray. Dinner included.
Day 6 Travel to Dublin port and enjoy breakfast on board the return ferry sailing to Holyhead. Arrive home: teatime.
