The village of Newtonmore is our gateway to the majestic scenery of the Scottish Highlands. Tucked away within the Cairngorms National Park, Newtonmore and the surrounding area is a hotspot for wildlife, and enjoys views of soaring mountains, shimmering rivers and some of the most beautiful lochs in the country. Feast your eyes upon the heather clad landscape which will be in full bloom this time of year. The award-winning Highland Folk Museum is a local attraction and free entry.

Day 1 Departure: 0530-0630 hrs. Travel north, making comfort stops en-route. Hotel check-in. Dinner is included for the next 4 nights. Days 2 - 4 Tours to such places as:
Inverness, known as the ‘city in the Highlands’, where the Rives Ness meets the Moray Firth, see Scotland in all its colourful glory. Highlights include Inverness Castle and the cathedral.
Loch Ness, the largest loch by volume in the UK, which winds its way around striking natural beauty. This rural paradise is flourishing with wildlife and history.
Fort Augustus, a quaint village where boats travel along the canal against a picturesque backdrop. The village can offer many scenic walks, charming pubs, and restaurants.
Commando Monument, an inspiring monument commemorating the service and sacrifice of soldiers during the Second World War, giving you the opportunity to reflect amid breath-taking views which scan across to Ben Nevis.
Tomintoul, the highest village in the Highlands and a fantastic example of original Scottish Highland character.
Dufftown, a bustling village considered the malt whisky capital of the world.
Keith & Dufftown Railway, a heritage railway line where you can take in scenic countryside as you traverse through stunning rivers, farming land, and forests.
Aviemore, situated in the Cairngorms National Park which is bordered by beautiful panoramas. The town appeals to outdoor enthusiasts, with snow sports, walking and biking popular, but also boasts some excellent shops and attractions.
Cairngorm Mountain Railway, which slopes up the Cairn Gorm, the 6th highest mountain in Britain, making it the highest funicular railway in the UK. All around is  unspoilt scenery and at the top, the Ptarmigan Restaurant is the highest restaurant in the UK.   Day 5 Depart hotel, making comfort stops en-route.  Arrive home: mid evening.

Based in the village of Newtonmore, within the Cairngorm National Park, the Highlander Hotel is renowned for a warm Scottish welcome and hospitality, traditional menu and entertainment. Recently refurbished with ‘boutique style’ rooms and walk in showers.

Bedrooms: En-suite with TV, tea/coffee making facilities, telephone, hairdryer, radio, iron and board.
Facilities: Bar and lounge. Duty manager on call at night.
Mobility Information: No lift. 2 floors. Ground floor bedrooms are subject to availability. Various steps throughout the hotel.
