Delight in the gallery of shops situated amongst the unique two-tiered black and white ‘Rows’ which date back from the Middle Ages.

The Italianate coastal village of Portmeirion is a stunning setting which complements the magic of Christmastime – this picture-perfect backdrop adds to its unique appeal of spending the day shopping, drinking and tasting Wales! You’ll be drawn to the programme of seasonal entertainment, including cooking demonstrations, live music and Christmas events. Now in its eighth year, it is one of the biggest and best celebrations of Welsh food, drink and craft the country has ever seen.

Tour itinerary

 

Day 1 Departure: Portmeirion

Departure: 0645 - 0745 hrs. Travel to Portmeirion. A village built by Clough Williams-Ellis from 1925 to 1975 to demonstrate how a naturally beautiful site could be developed without spoiling it. The Prisoner TV series was filmed on location here. Hotel check-in. Evening dinner included.

 

Day 2 Chester

After breakfast, explore Chester. Indulge in some Christmas shopping or sightseeing in this historical city. Arrive home early evening.

Located in the centre of Chester, opposite the railway station, approximately 10 minute’s walk into the centre. The hotel has recently received a multi-million pound refurbishment, adding contemporary design-led twists to the Victoria interiors. Marvel at the fabulous ceilings, spectacular staircases and regal public areas.
