The Postal Museum and Mail Rail, London
Showcasing remarkable stories from five centuries of communications, extraordinary collections will bring history to life – from interactive galleries and an immersive subterranean rail ride, to modern research and learning activities. Travel on board a specially-made train through the original underground tunnels of London’s secret 100-year-old Post Office railway. It was the world’s first driverless electric railway, transporting billions of letters and parcels safely through the city to around the globe.
Please note: In the event of an evacuation, visitors must be able to walk unaided for a minimum of 100 metres on uneven surfaces with minimal lighting, and up at least 70 steep steps. Visitors who do not meet these requirements will be unable to ride. May not be suitable for those sensitive to: small spaces, motion, loud noises, flashing lights. For vistors who cannot ride, there is a Mail Rail film to give visitors a taste of the experience.
