60103 Flying Scotsman, Nene Valley Railway
One of the most famous steam locomotives in the world, 60103 Flying Scotsman, returns to the Nene Valley Railway. Experience a return journey on the heritage line from Wansford, an unmissable opportunity to see the legendary locomotive in action. Built in 1923, it was designed by Sir Nigel Gresley as part of the A1 class – the most powerful locomotives used by the LNER at that time. In 1934, Scotsman was clocked at 100mph on a special test run – officially the first locomotive in the UK to have reached that speed. A brief lunch stop will be made at Stamford (lunch cost not included).
