Leeds Castle is reputed to be one of the most romantic and historic buildings in the land and this month we’re visiting the stunning castle for the ever-popular Festival of Flowers event, where you can discover why it’s not called the “loveliest castle in the world” for nothing!
Located in Kent, the castle has sat majestically for over 900 years in vast grounds. Over the years it has been the private property of six of England’s medieval queens and the residence of Henry VIII for his first wife, Catherine of Aragon, a Jacobean country house, a Georgian mansion, and a 20th century retreat for the famous. Surrounded by 500 acres of beautiful parklands, the large cottage gardens are a delight with very English features, from Roses, Lupins and Poppies.
For the ever-popular Festival of Flowers event, where this year’s theme is Enchanted Castle, international and award-winning florists and floral designers will transform the rooms into works of art. See demonstrations, hear talks, and get involved in the workshops that will be on offer on the day.
Woods Tours have a day trip to Festival of Flowers at Leeds Castle on Monday 25th September 2017. Please click here for more information or to make a booking.
